Do Your Muffins Love You Back?

My boyfriend has learned enough from me about how our food affects us, that when we go out for breakfast and he sees someone eating a massive pile of pancakes, he’ll turn to me and whisper, “Noooooooooo! They’re going to feel horrible in about 30 minutes!”

And it’s so true. We all know what it’s like to eat something and feel completely crummy afterward.

There are so many reasons why you might feel bad after eating treats like pancakes and waffles:

  • Highly processed and refined flours
  • Inflammatory oils
  • Blood sugar spike from sugar
  • Low nutrient density lacking protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals,
  • Gluten sensitivity or intolerance
  • Overeating & digestive overload

A pancake, waffle, or muffin made with these ingredients is the definition of a food that does not love you back. You might love it, but it definitely doesn’t return the favor.

Beanie Bites, on the other hand, are made with whole foods that actually do love you back. They’re packed with protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals—the good stuff that keeps you feeling amazing without the lethargy.

A friend of mine recently made Beanie Bites waffles and sent me this text and the photo above (how cute!!!):

“Btw, the waffles are sitting on my counter, and I have eaten two with a load of butter. They are delicious, and I do not feel lethargic at all—which would be typical of baked goods. There’s a pile of mini waffles, and they are delicious.”

Even with a load of butter (or whatever your topping of choice is, for me, it's almond butter), you can rest assured you’ll feel good after eating them. You do not have to sacrifice your favorite foods. With Beanie Bites, you get it all—something easy to make, delicious to eat, and that actually makes you feel good.

That’s what I mean by a food that loves you back.
